360 Living erect unique boat house on the River Thames. Foundations for this project were put in place in May 2017 when a wet-dock was formed. Challenging ground conditions meant that the foundations had to be piled; a method where steel and concrete is driven deep underground due to the local geology thus spreading the load onto more stable footing.

Local steel fabricators were used in the construction of the main structure resulting in a stylish, long lasting finish. The beautifully curved roof is made up of hundreds of bespoke dark wood struts and clad with zinc.  Architecturally the mission was to create something that was in keeping with the stylish modern house set back from the river, whilst having a ‘light touch’ on the surrounding countryside and river.

360 worked closely with the talented Spratley & Partners Architects ensuring the brief was achieved. The end result is simply breathtaking as the late evening sun reflects off the water and is refracted on the unusual underside of the roof.
